Fresno solar home installers will help you on your way to energy independence.California is a fantastic state for solar power for two reasons: the abundance of sunshine in the Golden State, and the excellent incentives and rebates available. If you combine state and Federal rebates together, installing solar panels in the state of California could save you 60% of the costs.
In 2008, California accounted for 65% of all photovoltaic systems in the U.S, and has 530 mW installed across the state. Compared to other states this number is huge and it will only continue to grow. Because there is so much solar energy being used in the state of California, there are a large number of solar installers, and making the right choice can be daunting. We are here to help you make that right choice.
It is important to find a solar installer who is knowledgeable on the incentives and rebates available for your home or business. Here is a rough breakdown to get you started.
The area of California you live in and the utility provider you use, affect the size of the rebate available. For example, if your utility provider is PG&E you will be entitled to $1.55/installed solar watt. If your utility provider is SCE you will be entitled to $1.90/per installed solar watt. This is for residential installation and commercial installations have different rates.
So, imagine that your home uses 495kWh of electricity per month or roughly $108 monthly electricity bill. You will need a solar system of 3kW to cover 90% of your electricity bill. The average cost of installation, including panels is roughly $7/Watt. So a 3kW system will cost $21,000.
Now, say your utility provider is SCE; you can subtract $5,700 from the cost ($1.90 x 3,000) giving a total cost of $15,300.
Next comes the Federal Tax Incentive of 30%. It is important to note that the Federal Tax Incentive will be added AFTER the utility rebate. So a 30% tax Incentive ($4,590) brings the total cost for a 3000-Watt photovoltaic system to $10,710.
It will take, on estimate, 8.2 years for the system to pay for itself. With solar panels warranty lasting 25-30 years, you can expect many years of savings and profit from your solar panels.
You will also be saving 5,510 lbs of C02 emissions from being released into the atmosphere every year.
A California solar installer can give you the latest information on the rebates and incentives, and help you calculate what size of photovoltaic solar panel system is going to be right for you.
We will be happy to recommend a qualified and knowledgeable California solar installer in your area.
The California Solar Initiative (CSI) aims to have 3,000 megawatts of solar power in the Golden State by 2017. You can help the CSI achieve this ambitious target by making the decision to go solar today.
